Hwy 27 and 169—north of Onamia

About this 2026 project

MnDOT will improve access and safety at the north junction of Hwy 27 and Hwy 169 with a new roundabout. The project requires Hwy 27 to detour. Hwy 169 lanes will be open with no shoulders through the work zone.

Summary of work

• Install a four-legged roundabout at the intersection of Hwy 27, Hwy 169 and the west Frontage Rd.
• Reconstruct adjacent entrances:
  • Realign Co. Rd. 35 (Twilight Rd.) to/from westbound Hwy 27
  • Install right in-out entrance at the Veterans Club on eastbound Hwy 27
  • Install concrete median with 3/4 accesses to/from Hwy 169
• Install pedestrian crosswalks and approaches
