Potter-Third Street intersection in Red Wing closed until Aug. 18 for sewer, utility work
RED WING, Minn. — Motorists should be alert that the closure of the Potter Street and Third Street intersection near the Highway 63/Eisenhower Bridge in Red Wing will be until Aug. 18 for underground utility work.
Motorists should seek alternate routes around the intersection during this work. Work was done earlier this summer and Potter was reopened for a week. The contractor has returned to finish up the work, which involves storm sewer and other services.
The Highway 63/Eisenhower Bridge project includes building a new bridge to replace the Highway 63/Eisenhower Bridge, replacing the historic slip ramp Highway 63 Bridge over Highway 61, reconstructing approach roadways in Minnesota and Wisconsin, improving access to Red Wing and upgrading pedestrian and bicyclist crossings. The prime contractor on this $63.4 million construction project is Zenith Tech. The new bridge is expected to open to traffic by fall of 2019.
