I-90 resurfacing

About this project

I-90 will be resurfaced from Austin to Dexter. Work also includes improving exit and entrance ramps.

2025 work

Construction is scheduled May 19 to late-August.

• Resurface westbound I-90
• 28th St. NE in Austin to 0.4 miles east of Hwy 16 near Dexter
• Resurface and improve westbound I-90 exit and entrance ramps

2028-2029 work

• Resurface eastbound I-90
• 28th St. NE in Austin to 0.4 miles east of Hwy 16 near Dexter
• Resurface and improve eastbound I-90 exit and entrance ramps
• Remove and replace box culverts at Rose Creek

Traffic impacts

I-90 westbound and eastbound traffic will travel in single lanes adjacent to each other on I-90 eastbound in the project area.

Ramps will close and be detoured while they are being resurfaced. Exact dates of each closure will be announced once the schedule is determined. Sign up for project email updates so you stay aware about the traffic impacts.
