Hwy 62 to close from July 20-23 for resurfacing in Minneapolis
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation plans to close Hwy 62 this weekend to resurface the road between Portland Avenue and 28th Minneapolis.
The highway will close between Hwy 5 to I-35W at 10 p.m. Friday, July 20 and is scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, July 23. The detour is Hwy 5, I-494 and I-35W.
Westbound Hwy 62 will be open to Hiawatha/Hwy 55 to allow access to the federal and state buildings on Hwy 62. Traffic continuing on westbound Hwy 62 should take Hwy 5.
All ramps leading to and from Hwy 62 including Cedar Avenue, 28th Avenue, 34th Avenue and Bloomington Avenue will be closed during the weekend.
This is a one weekend project that will provide a smoother ride for motorists on Hwy 62.
Motorists should plan ahead and give themselves additional time to reach their destinations.
