Daytime closure scheduled for Concord Street in South St. Paul Sept. 10
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Highway 156/Concord Street in South St. Paul will encounter a full closure between Richmond Street and Villaume Avenue for approximately 16 hours on Monday, Sept. 10.
Beginning at 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, crews will close Concord Street between Richmond Street and Villaume Avenue as crews begin working on the I-494 bridge over the road. Motorists should follow the signed detour using Villaume Avenue, Richmond Street and Hardman Avenue to bypass the closure.
Concord Street is expected to reopen to a single lane in each direction late Monday evening, Sept. 10 and remain that way through the spring of 2019.
This road and lane closure is a part of a larger project on I-494 where crews will widen, resurface and replace bridge joints on the Concord Street/Hwy 156 bridge, construct auxiliary lanes on westbound I-494 between Hardman Ave. to west of 5th Ave., improve drainage and construct noise walls.
