MnDOT invites Pelican Rapids businesses to pre-construction workshop

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Ahead of the 2024 project to reconstruct Highways 59 and 108 in the City of Pelican Rapids, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, in collaboration with the Small Business Development Center, will host a free business workshop called “Thrive during Construction” on Monday, March. 20, from 6 to 9 p.m., for local business owners and leaders. The event will be held at the Pelican Rapids High School’s Fine Arts Auditorium, 310 S. Broadway.

The three-hour session will be facilitated by SBDC business consultants who will discuss strategies and tactics to mitigate risk and help businesses thrive during the construction season. The first half of the workshop will cover business planning topics such as inventory control, cash flow management, staffing and scenario planning. The second half will focus on marketing and communication tactics.
Businesses in Pelican Rapids, especially those along the work zone, are encouraged to participate in workshop.

For more information about the complete streets project and to sign up for email updates, visit mndot.gov/d4/projects/pelicanrapids. An open house will be held in Pelican Rapids later this spring for the public to learn more about the project’s final design, construction staging and more.

Minnesota Department of Transportation invites and encourages participation by all. We believe everyone should have an equal opportunity to enjoy the programs, services and activities we provide. If you feel you need a reasonable accommodation in order to fully participate in this event, such as an ASL or spoken language interpreter, or need documents in an alternate format, such as braille or large print, please contact: Janet Miller at 651-366-4720 or e-mail ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
