169 Redefine: Learn about 2023 construction March 21, Elk River City Hall

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Elk River community is invited to attend and visit with the 169 Redefine project team to learn about 2023 construction plans and impacts at a public open house Tuesday, March 21.

The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Elk River City Hall, 13065 Orono Parkway, Elk River.

The event is hosted by the City of Elk River and is drop-in style to better fit individual schedules. Guests may arrive at any time to learn, ask questions and then leave at their convenience.

In 2023, crews will construct two new interchanges on Hwy 169 at School Street and Jackson/193rd Avenue. Construction includes freeway lanes, adjacent city roads and sidewalk connections, utilities and underground infrastructure.

Overall, Hwy 169 will be reduced to one lane in both directions between Main Street and 197th Avenue. By early April, access will close to and from Hwy 169 at School Street and 193rd Avenue. Temporary access will be available; however, expect changes.

In 2022, crews improved access at the Hwy 10/101/169 interchange, reconstructed the northbound Hwy 101/169 bridge over Hwy 10 and constructed a new interchange at Hwy 169 and 197th Avenue.

In 2024, a new interchange will be constructed at Hwy 169 and Main Street.

Visit the 169 Redefine project website for more information and to sign up for construction email updates.
