MnDOT to host March 11 public meeting for Highway 97 construction in Forest Lake

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the community to attend an in-person public meeting on Tuesday, March 11 to learn more about upcoming construction on Highway 97 between Interstate 35 and Highway 61 in Forest Lake.

Attendees will find out more about the two-year project schedule, traffic impacts, and alternative routes to use during construction. Project staff will be available to provide information about the project and answer questions. There will be no formal presentation, and attendees are welcome to arrive anytime during the meeting.

The work will include resurfacing the road, constructing a single-lane roundabout at Fenway Avenue, building a multi-use trail for pedestrians and bicyclists, constructing medians and adding turn lanes in specific locations. Construction is scheduled to be complete in fall 2026 and is expected to improve traffic flow and safety on the roadway.
