The City of Thief River Falls and MnDOT to host Highway 59 open house Oct. 22
Bemidji, Minn. – The City of Thief River Falls and the Minnesota Department of Transportation will host a public open house to share findings and information from the Highway 59 corridor study in Thief River Falls. The open house is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 22, at the MnDOT multi-purpose room of the Joint-Use Facility, 248 125th Ave NE in Thief River Falls. There will not be a formal presentation, and attendees may come at their leisure.
The City of Thief River Falls, in close collaboration with MnDOT, conducted a corridor study beginning in March 2024, to improve pedestrian and vehicle safety, highway access, address stormwater drainage issues and the poor pavement conditions. The study also focused on maintaining traffic flow and creating a welcoming gateway to the city. The corridor project limits included Highway 59 from approximately 1st Ste. E. to the southern city limits at 155th St. NE.
