Description:
Support research and construction activities such as Density Profiling Systems (DPS) and new pavement quality assurance. In this position, you will work in field data collection and sampling, conduct testing and data analysis, and assist with quality assurance activities.
Primary tasks:
- Collect, process, and validate data to ensure quality of measurements, core locations, and overall assessment of asphalt density
- Assist in detailed data analysis to understand the collection results to be communicated to clients
- Assist with projects requested by counties that require non-destructive evaluation

Description:
Gain experience in traffic safety practices, data analysis, and engineering standards, working in the Office of Traffic Engineering. In this position, you will assist with projects related to traffic policies, crash analysis, field reviews, and speed data collection while learning about traffic research projects and safety training courses.
Primary tasks:

Description:
Help maintain spatial data and provide basic Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services to staff in the Office of
Transportation System Management (OTSM). In this position, you will learn how to collect, organize, analyze, and map spatial data to support MnDOT’s business needs. This role focuses on building foundational GIS skills, gaining experience with ArcGIS software, and contributing to the accuracy and accessibility of MnDOT’s GIS data and mapping resources.
Primary tasks:
- Help create maps following MnDOT’s templates using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online tools
- Perform quality checks and update spatial data to ensure accuracy
- Use location, address, or route information to complete simple spatial analysis tasks
- Help prepare GIS-related updates, summaries, and materials for user groups.
