Start for Hwy 212 resurfacing project in Olivia moved to July 29

WILLMAR, Minn. – The start date for a project to resurface two miles of Highway 212 in Olivia has been moved to July 29, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The road will be resurfaced with asphalt from Highway 212’s north junction with Highway 71 to the south junction with Highway 71.

Work is now expected to be completed in late August/early September, depending on weather and other unforeseeable circumstances.

Traffic impacts
Resurfacing will take place under traffic with lane shifts, a flagging operation and pilot car. Drivers can expect brief delays and should allow extra travel time.

Frontage roads along the project route will be open and accessible.

Project benefits and cost

Benefits of the project include a smoother road surface. Duininck, Inc., is the contractor, and the project cost is approximately $1.2 million.
