Highway 42 closure, detour April 15-16 for railroad crossing repairs in Eyota

EYOTA, Minn. – Highway 42 motorists in Eyota will be detoured from 10 a.m. on April 15 to 9 a.m. on April 16 as Canadian Pacific Railway crews repair the railroad crossing, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The closure at the railroad crossing on Highway 42 is approximately one mile south of Highway 14.

The detour for motorists using Highway 42 southbound is Highway 14 east to Olmsted County Road 7 south through Eyota, where it rejoins Hwy 42 south of the railroad crossing. The northbound Hwy 42 detour is the reverse. The detour will be marked with signs during the railroad’s work.
