Bridge work on Stearns County Road 137 in Waite Park begins June 2

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin a three-month project to resurface and update the Stearns County Road 137 bridge over Highway 15 in Waite Park on Monday, June 2.

What to expect June 2 through late August:

Stearns County Road 137: The bridge will close to all travelers and detour between Second Avenue South and West Saint Germain Street. Motorists will follow a detour along Second Avenue South, Highway 23 (County Road 75/Second Street South) and 33rd Avenue Southwest (Saint Germain Street). Pedestrians will follow a signed detour along city streets.
Highway 15: Open with lane closures between Highway 23 (County Road 75/Second Street South) and the 33rd Street South interchange. Please be prepared to slow down when approaching the work zone, then navigate through with care and caution.

PCi Roads, LLC, is the prime contractor for this $1 million project that will resurface the bridge deck (replace the concrete wearing coarse); replace the approach panels and joints, along with other bridge repairs; and upgrade bridge railing and steel barrier approaches.

When complete, travelers will benefit from a smoother bridge surface and improved motorist and pedestrian safety.
