Highway 56 LeRoy ribbon cutting ceremony planned May 30
LEROY, Minn. – The public is invited to a ceremonial ribbon cutting event May 30 in LeRoy to celebrate the completion of the Highway 56 reconstruction project, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The event will take place downtown at 10 a.m., Friday, May 30 along the sidewalk area in front of the Community Center at 204 West Main Street, LeRoy, MN 55951. Brief speeches and a ribbon cutting will take place with community leaders.
Project information
A 1.2-mile stretch of Highway 56 was reconstructed in 2024 in LeRoy to address deteriorating pavement conditions, improve drainage, enhance student crosswalk safety and make pedestrian improvements to meet current accessibility standards. At the same time, the city of LeRoy replaced aging city utilities underneath the road. Final paving, striping and tree planting were completed this month.
