Be alert for fog seal crews along Highway 212 this week

WILLMAR, Minn. – Crews will be fog sealing paved shoulders along Highway 212 from Granite Falls to Danube this week, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Fog sealing is done to preserve and extend the life of asphalt pavement. A thin layer of oil is sprayed on the roadway, which fills small holes and seals minor cracks.

Fog sealing is a moving operation, and travelers are asked to slow down in the project area and be alert for workers and heavy equipment.

Work is expected to conclude by Fri., Aug. 1, depending on weather and other unforeseeable circumstances. Central Specialties, Inc., is the contractor, and the project cost is approximately $80,000.
