Hwy 19 detoured northeast of Northfield Oct. 6-Nov. 3 for pedestrian tunnel
NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Highway 19 will be detoured east of Hwy 19 detoured northeast of Northfield Oct. 6-Nov. 3 for pedestrian tunnelNorthfield Oct. 6 to Nov. 3 as construction crews work on a pedestrian trail connection under the highway for the Mill Towns State Trail, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Construction crews will be installing a box culvert for the trail to serve as a pedestrian tunnel. The signed detour for westbound motorists is Rice County Road 42 (Kellogg Avenue and Kane Avenue) south to Rice County Road 28 (100th Street East/Woodley Street East) into Northfield. The route for eastbound motorists leaving Northfield is the reverse.
