Overnight northbound I-35W closure in Burnsville on Nov. 11 for lane striping
ROSEVILLE, Minn. —From 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 through 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, crews will close northbound Interstate 35W between the I-35/I-35E/I-35W split and I-494 for lane striping, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
During the closure, motorists can use northbound I-35 to northbound I-35E to northbound Hwy 77 to westbound I-494 to northbound I-35W as a detour.
The ramps from eastbound Hwy 13 to southbound I-35W and Burnsville Parkway to northbound I-35W, originally scheduled to open in late October, will now open on Friday, Nov. 14. This postponement is needed to allow crews enough time to restage I-35W for the winter.
Also, through Friday, Nov. 14, motorists will experience several lane and traffic shifts. This is in preparation for crews to set up the roadway for winter traffic flow.
The following will open for the winter and resume construction in the spring:
- 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7
- Hwy 13 will return to two lanes in both directions over I-35W
- 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14
- I-35W will return to its normal lanes south of Cliff Road
- All ramps at the interchanges of Hwy 13 and I-35W
- All ramps at the interchanges of Burnsville Parkway and I-35W
- EZ-Pass lanes will remain closed
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, and slowdown in work zones where workers are present.
