I-394 E-ZPass lanes reopen Nov. 9
Periodic overnight lane closures continue on I-394 and I-94 through early December
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Interstate 394 in the west Twin Cities metro area can resume using the E-ZPass lanes between downtown Minneapolis and Highway 100 by 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The E-ZPass lanes will operate normally through the winter. The lanes have been closed since July while construction crews worked on bridge and ramp repairs and concrete restoration in the center lanes of I-394.
As crews finish work on the first season of bridge maintenance, drivers should expect intermittent overnight lane closures (10 p.m.–5 a.m.) on I-394 and I-94 through early December.
The second season of maintenance work along the I-394 corridor is slated to begin in February 2026 as crews continue work on the 34 bridges between Highway 100 and downtown. The 2026 work will also include improving the ramps connecting Highway 55 and I-94 to I-394 and replacing the bridge deck over I-394 at Penn Avenue.
