Hwy 169 - Hwy 22 - Hwy 99 Intersections

St. Peter

Project overview

To improve the pavement condition, intersection safety, and traffic flow on the south side of St. Peter, the intersections of Hwy 169 with Hwy 22 and Hwy 99 will be reconstructed in 2023. With input from the City of St. Peter, residents and businesses, and other project stakeholders, MnDOT developed concepts and arrived at a layout for 2023 construction.

Construction updates

  • Periodic construction updates will be posted online throughout the project.

Summary of work

  • Construct a Restricted Crossing U-Turn (also known as an RCUT or J-Turn) at the intersection with Hwy 99
  • Add a second left turn lane at the intersection with Hwy 22, to create dual left turn lanes for motorists traveling southbound Hwy 169 to southbound Hwy 22

Traffic impacts

Traffic will be detoured during construction. Different detour stages can be viewed on an interactive map.
