About this project

We will begin repairs to the pedestrian/bicycle bridge crossing over Hwy 52/Lafayette Freeway in St. Paul in early August. The bridge, located just north of Cesar Chavez St./Concord St., has been closed to the public since June 2024. The eastern end of the bridge was struck and damaged by an overheight load on the northbound freeway.

Summary of work

  • Remove the damaged eastern end of the bridge over northbound Hwy 52 and rebuild a new section that matches the existing structure and repaint the bridge
