Project information

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has identified snow trap locations throughout west central Minnesota. These are areas that are typically open with no wind breaks, causing blowing and drifting snow issues for drivers. Learn more about MnDOT's snow fence program.

MnDOT received $13.736 million of IIJA federal funds, and will install structural snow fence and living snow fence along various locations on Interstate 94 between Moorhead and Osakis. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027.
