Hwy 56 traffic impacts, south of West Concord

Hwy 56 will be closed from Dodge Co. Rd. 34 to West Concord (Dodge Co. Rd. 24). There will be two timeframes of construction: Week of June 23 and July 7-21. The road will reopen once the work of the June 23 week is completed. Then, it will be closed to through traffic again the week of July 7 until the work is completed, approximately two weeks, weather permitting.

• Detour route: If going south, go east on Dodge Co. Rd. 24, south on Dodge Co. Rd. 7, east on Dodge Co. Rd. 20, south on Dodge Co. Rd. 7 and west on Dodge Co. Rd. 34 to reach Hwy 56
• If going north, take the above detour route in reverse.
• Residents will be able to reach their homes and businesses along the highway.

Hwy 14 westbound, between Kasson and Dodge Center

A single lane closure will occur during work. It's anticipated that work will begin the week of July 21.

About this project

Summary of work

Multiple highways in southeast Minnesota are scheduled to be improved from 2025 to 2026. Concrete pavement repairs will improve the functionality, strength and appearance of concrete roads. The work can include patching, replacinge damaged concrete panels or repairing or sealing joints. The work takes time to remove, repair and then wait for the concrete to cure or gain sufficient strength to hold vehicle traffic.

The following roads will be worked on during 2025:

• Hwy 63 from Spring Valley (Hwy 16) to the Iowa state line, completed June 25
• Hwy 14 westbound near Dodge Center, week of July 21
• Hwy 56 from Dodge Co. Rd. 34 to West Concord (Dodge Co. Rd. 24)
