Summary of work

A box culvert over a stream on Hwy 56 is scheduled to be replaced in 2026. Construction is expected to begin July 6, and it’s anticipated to be completed by September. The work zone is approximately 4.4 miles north of Kenyon and about 0.26 miles north of Little Cannon River.

Traffic impacts

A detour will be in place during the work.

• If north of the work zone, motorists should go east on County Road 9, south on County 14 Boulevard and then west on County 30 Boulevard to rejoin Hwy 56.
• If south of the work zone, motorists should use the above detour route in reverse.
